We've finally made it to the final stretch of Fleet for the Future, our equipment capital campaign! We'll officially wrap up the campaign by the end of July, 2017. We are planning a celebration this summer that we would love for you to attend - we'll have the new fleet on display so you can see what your support has purchased. Stay tuned for event details.

As you may recall, our original campaign goal for Fleet for the Future was $400,000. Before we landed on $400K, our goal amount in the planning stages was $500K. When a large request was not secured in the planning stages of the campaign, we lowered our goal to $400K. As our largest fundraising goal and effort to date, we wanted to set a goal we knew we could meet. However, because of your support, we have exceeded our goal and are now pursuing a new goal of $550,000.

We have revised the budget, adjusted the number and type of vehicles to sell, keep, or purchase, and considered what each would mean to our youth programming. We are now able to sell the three 2010 vans we had conceded to keep, which allows us to avoid an immediate need to replace vehicles right after the campaign's end. Ultimately, this higher goal positions us much better in terms of sustaining our brand new fleet.

We've invested $30,000 in our fleet replacement fund, and our Board is deliberating on how to add to that fund each year. We also decided on a fleet maintenance system called Automile that will ensure our equipment is taken care of on schedule.

Our thanks and gratitude to each one of you, without whom this project could not have been possible. And we must express our thanks to our major campaign funders:  MCM Fund, Oregon Community Foundation and OCF Donor Advised Funds, The Collins Foundation, The Ford Family Foundation, MJ Murdock Charitable Trust, Mt Bachelor, Aperion Management Group, 100+ Women Who Care Central Oregon, and the Eddie Williamson Family Foundation.

Our most used vehicles travel 25,000-50,000 miles a year. Each vehicle and piece of equipment is essential to our continued operations as a youth corps. We absolutely cannot support our program structure, heavily dependent on safe and reliable transportation for youth to and from job sites, without modernizing our fleet of vehicles and equipment. We are about $5,000 away from reaching our individual donor campaign goal.

Help us get there.
